12 month fixed term contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing and Communications Officer to join our busy, creative and innovative Marketing and Communications team on a fixed term contract.

You’ll be working in a fast paced environment that is constantly challenging and interesting, helping to deliver professional, engaging and effective communications activity on the priorities and services of Braintree District Council to a range of stakeholders and protecting the reputation of the organisation and the services it provides.

To become a part of this flexible and driven team, you will need to be an enthusiastic and organised team player and be able to demonstrate the following:

Ability to produce comprehensive communication plans and deliver excellent, timely and inspiring communications
Have a good understanding of the digital communications and social media landscape, with experience in planning, management and delivery of digital channels and creative content.
Experience of working with designers to give sound briefs that ensure cost effective and timely production of documents
Editorial experience and ability to create news and features
Firm grasp of grammar and attention to detail
Need to be adept at handling media enquiries and creating effective news releases
Able to work to deadlines, on own initiative and under pressure
Experience of working effectively with partners from all sectors
