Bit about Steve:

Steve has a decade of experience leading communications for not-for-profit organisations and joined social housing provider GSA in 2022, where he has since led an overhaul of the organisation’s communications function – including its social media presence. Steve has previously held roles at a creative agency and in a host of in-house roles, including a stint as the communications lead for the Chartered Institute of Housing – the sector’s professional body. Steve is a former newspaper editor and worked on newspapers across the West Midlands before moving into communications and PR.

With a passion for empowering black and marginalised women and people, Faye is currently an associate at Olmec, a race equality organisation and Special Independent Director at SL Creatives, a CIC based in Peckham that supports women into work.

She’s written social media and comms strategies for many brands – from councils to retail businesses to membership organisations.

She’s taught communications and marketing professionals from brands like Welsh Government, NUS, Manchester City Council and BBC Studios to become successful social media strategists.

As well as teaching, she’s also a respected communications professional with shelves of awards to her name, the most recent being from the 2018 UK Social Media Marketing Awards.

Her aim is to get you feeling inspired, fearless & confident as a social media strategist.

She also loves to draw cartoons, chat to cats and binge-watch repeats of sitcoms like Frasier, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Only Murders In The Building.
